What Is the TRCU Certificate?
TRCU is a unified certification system that originated with the Eurasian Customs Union (EACU), formed in 2010 by Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. It came into effect in 2015 under the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The Eurasian Customs Union and Eurasian Economic Union now comprise five member states: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia. TRCU certification follows the prescribed certification procedures established by decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Certificates bear the EAC Mark, which stands for EURASIAN CONFORMITY.
TRCU stands for Technical Regulation of the Customs Union. It refers to the technical specifications for products included on the list of items subject to unified conformity assessment agreed upon by the member states. The system was introduced to eliminate the burden of obtaining separate certificates that met each country’s standards under the former GOST certification system, and to support free economic cooperation among member states. A TRCU certificate is therefore a single certificate, issued through a unified technical safety certification procedure for items on the unified list, and it is valid for use across all member states. The terms TRCU certification, CU TR certification, and EAC certification all refer to the same certificate.
Items listed on the unified conformity assessment list have not been able to use GOST certificates since 2015, and must obtain a new TRCU certificate. Items not yet included on the unified list (or still under negotiation) must continue to obtain GOST certificates.
Types of TRCU Certificates
TRCU certificates are divided into two types, CoC (Certificate of Conformity) and DoC (Declaration of Conformity), depending on the product group and specific details. Even items within the same product group may fall under CoC or DoC depending on their intended use, operating environment, specifications, and risk level.
Validity Period of TRCU Certificates
TRCU certificates are divided into One-Shipment and Serial certifications according to their validity period.
